Changes IR35 - what you need to know
7th January 2020
From April 2020 private sector employers will have to follow the same IR35 rules as the public sector.
Post-April 2020, private sector employers will be responsible for determining whether IR35 applies to contractors and, if applicable, treat them as employees for tax purposes. Broadly speaking, IR35 states, ‘If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.’.. In other words, if the contractor is working like an employee, with similar obligations, then they should be treated as one for tax purposes.
If you are concerned about the impact of the proposed IR35 changes please register to join us at this complimentary event on 25 March 2020.
