We invite you to join us via Zoom on 9 July when we will be providing a Cryptocurrency 101, taking a look at the basics.  Starting with, What is cryptocurrency? What is bitcoin? How can you mine bitcoins? How are bitcoins valued?

This session is aimed at the Crypto novice and we are delighted to be joined by two guest speakers, both of whom are leading experts in the field  On Yavin, founder and managing partner at Cointelligence Fund and Charles Kerrigan at Partner at CMS UK.   We cannot thank them enough for agreeing to share with us their wealth of knowledge and experience of working with Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency.

About our speakers

On Yavin is a serial entrepreneur, lawyer, and angel investor. Over the years he has established and built several successful companies, and invested in and mentored many others. In 2017, he joined the blockchain industry with the founding of Cointelligence. Since then, through Cointelligence he has provided the industry with valuable research and education. At the start of 2021 he launched Cointelligence Fund, a fund-of-funds dedicated to digital assets, where he serves as Managing Partner.

Charles Kerrigan, is a Partner with CMS UK.  The Blockchain Industry Landscape Overview in 2018 named Charles as one of the UK’s leading influencers on blockchain. He is the UK’s “recommended lawyer” for blockchain and digital technology in the UK Parliament Hub. He is a lawyer specialising in finance and technology. He works on corporate finance and venture capital fundraising transactions for companies, funds, platforms and financial institutions. He works on consulting projects on blockchain, digital assets, AI and automation/transformation for public bodies, policy makers, standards institutions and corporations.

Charles sits on the advisory boards of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence (APPG AI) and the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain (APPG Blockchain) and has written the following books: AI Law and Regulation (Edward Elgar, to be published Summer 2021), Practical Lending and Security Precedents – General Editor (Sweet & Maxwell, 2020), Growing with Blockchain (Novaro, 2020), The Financing of Intangible Assets, TMT Finance and Emerging Technologies (Butterworths, 2019), Responsible AI (Co-author IKTA, 2019)
