Tax Fee Protection Insurance
We are asking that all clients (apart from groups and special quotes) process their tax investigations insurance policy online this year. We ask that you access our secure portal using the relevant link below where you will be asked to select the relevant product and make an online payment.
If you are renewing or taking out cover for a group or special quote please return your completed reply slip by email to email@example.com together with details of your BACS payment. We are unable to accept cheques and forms by post this year.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pay online or via a credit card?
Yes, for the 2020/2021 policy year we can process your policy and payment online. Please click on the relevant link above and you will be taken to a secure payment page.
I would prefer to send you a cheque in the post, can I still do this?
No, unfortunately in order to protect our staff and clients we have had to susped manual processing of policy documents this year. However, we recognise that for some this may be a problem. If you are unable to make your payment online or via BACS please speak to one of our FPI team on 020 7330 0000.
I joined the scheme after 31 October, can I pro-rata the annual policy premium?
Due to the restrictions on the policy if you wish to join our scheme mid-year we can only pro-rata business policies, we are not able to pro-rata policies for private clients. Companies taking out cover via our online portal will automatically be shown pro-rata premiums after 31 October 2020.
When will I receive a VAT receipt for my policy payment?
There is no VAT element charged on this policy and therefore a VAT receipt will not be issued. You will receive policy documents setting out details of the premium payment made; this will act as your receipt. If you take out your policy via our online portal you will receive instant documentation by email. If your policy is a group policy or special quote your policy documentation will be sent out approximately 6 weeks after the 1 October renewal date.
Do I get free cover as a Director of an insured limited company/partnership?
Yes, provided you are a client of our practice personally and all the qualifying criteria is met. If after reviewing your policy papers you are unsure whether you are able to obtain free cover, please email us on email@example.com with your client reference number. This is a busy time for us but we will aim to revert back to you within 24 hours.
Is my spouse/civil partner able to receive free cover as part of my company policy?
Again, as above, yes if they are a client of our practice personally and the qualifying criteria is met. My previous accountant submitted my return late last year; does this exclude me from cover now I am an ABG client?
We can in most circumstances arrange cover for you but this does depend upon your personal circumstances and this does need to be looked at on a case by case basis. Please email us at email@example.com with your client reference number and we will revert back to you ASAP.
I was uninsured last year and had a tax investigation. This has now been finalised a closed, can I take insurance this year?
We would be happy to arrange cover for you this year as part of our scheme.
I have a group of 3 companies that ABG acts for; do they each need their own policy?
Yes each company you wish to insure would need separate cover. In some circumstances group cover is available; this normally applies to larger groups. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your client reference number and one of our team will contact you ASAP.
ABG does not yet deal with my tax affairs, can you insure me?
Our scheme only allows us to insure ABG clients. We would be happy to offer you a free initial consultation to discuss with you how we could assist you with your tax affairs and how you could become an ABG client.
I had a claim through your scheme last year, can I reinsure this year and will my premium be higher?
We would be happy to reinsure you this year, on exactly the same basis as last year. You may see a small increase in your premium, mainly due to a firm wide increase. However, any increase is not specific to you because of a previous claim.
