The initial key announcements in today’s Spring Budget include:
- An additonal £2billion for social care
- £435million extra help on business rates
- National Insurance to increase by 2% for self-employed workers by 2019
- Tax allowance on dividends to be cut
- The National Living Wage will increase to £7.50 in April
- We are stronger together ….. £350million for Scottish government, £200m for Welsh government, £120million for Northern Ireland
- Minimum excise duty for cigarettes (new)
- Funds to be available for 110 new free schools
- Free transport to certain schools for pupils who are entitled to free school meals
- T-Levels for students doing technical qualifications
- £2,000 tax break for childcare
