Can I delay my July tax payment on account?

by | Mar 31, 2020

In July any 2nd second payment on account for tax would have fallen due however HMRC have put in place a nationwide payment holiday due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The result of this payment holiday is that instead of this payment being due in July it will need to be paid on or before 31 January 2021, alongsde any tax due for 19/20 tax year!   For many this delay in payment will be of great help now but it will result in a greater pain in January 2021.

Our tax team are recommending that the earlier you can get your 2019/20 tax return details to us the better.  We will then be in a position to work on your tax return and calculate your payments due.   We are here to help you, the last thing we wish to do is present you with a large tax bill in January when you are unprepared.
