How do I get a VAT payment holiday?

by | Mar 31, 2020

This VAT holiday is automatic and there is no application required.  VAT registered businesses will not need to make a VAT payment during the period 20 March to 30 June.

It should be noted that VAT registered businesses will still need to submit their VAT return as normal.

Businesses will be given until the 31 March 2021 to pay any VAT liabilities that have accumulated during the deferral period.

It is important to note that VAT refunds and reclaims will be paid by the Government as normal.

If you normally pay by Direct Debit you should contact your bank to cancel your Direct Debit as soon as you can, or you can cancel online if you’re registered for online banking.
