Adding value through your audit
Arram Berlyn Gardner's team of auditors and accountants can add value to your business through the audit process. It is unfortunate that many business owners often regard the annual audit and preparation of annual accounts as a cost centre - a necessary evil that adds no value to the business. At ABG our auditors and qualified team of accountants strive to transform your business's audit into a profit centre.
Put simply, our audit process will be broken down as follows:
Audit strategy – ABG’s audit strategy is based on a clear understanding of your objectives and procedures. We will tailor our audit approach to ensure that it is specific to the business and this is achieved by gaining a thorough understanding of the business needs/objectives, industry, systems and controls and communicating with you not only during the audit but throughout the year.
Audit Planning – in accordance with International Standards on Auditing we adopt a risk based audit approach in order to allocate our resources on areas that are considered to be of significant risks.
Our assessment of the risks associated with your business are based on a number of factors such as business sector, location, size, management structure, employees, governance issues, ethos and complexity of operations.
We will assess the key day-to-day risks faced by your business and consider how these risks could impact on the financial statements and then plan our audit procedures accordingly.
Audit Fieldwork – we understand that during the audit period management have additional responsibilities in addition to their normal day to day running of the business. We will always aim to minimise any disruption to your business by planning in advance. Our planning process ensures that the fieldwork starts in the office when we will be evaluating the information provided by you, designing our audit tests and selecting samples (where possible) in advance of the onsite fieldwork.
Communication & Reporting – ABG audit team will ensure that there is regular communication with management throughout the audit process. We will endeavour to keep you up to date with any regulatory developments or changes that could impact upon your business
As auditors and your accountants it is our job to help you meet the current statutory audit requirements, but we also take the opportunity to ask our accounting team to conduct a full review of your financial and management systems. This review can often result in our audit identifying potential problem areas and recommending opportunities to improve your business performance. We will always discuss and communicate our findings with you and our auditors and accountants will discuss with you any opportunities that might exist to help you implement any agreed solutions.
Our Audit and accounting team sees the preparation of your annual report and your audit as an opportunity to enhance your external image. A well-prepared audit report can have a considerable positive impact on the perceptions of investors, potential finance sources, customers, prospects, referral sources, and even your own staff - all of which greatly improves your business prospects for the future.
